On January 10, 2008 the round-table discussion named as "The development of winter kinds of tourism under motto as "Kyrgyzstan is the country of Santa Claus" has been organized and held by initiative of State Tourism Agency of Kyrgyzstan.

 

The main theme of discussions was the preparation to International Winter Festival of World`s Santa Clauses in the network of measures, which are directed to the world recognition of Kyrgyzstan as the country of this fairy personage. The department intends to conduct the festival approximately at the first Fabruary ten days of current year.

 

According to representatives of State Tourism Agency, the festival will become as the annual event and promote the attraction of tourists in Kyrgyzstan and the development of  winter kinds of tourism.
