In the middle of November,
2008 in
Seoul,
South Korea, a business conference on Strategy of introduction to the CIS markets, organized by the Agency for the development of Investments and Trade of the Republic of Korea (KOTRA) was held. The purpose of the conference was to present investment climate in the countries participants of the conference, consider projects with the purpose to win South Korean investments.
Delegations from
Ukraine,
Belorussia,
Kyrgyzstan,
Tajikistan,
Armenia, and
Azerbaijan as well as more than 250 largest South Korean companies specializing in construction, power and mechanic engineering, telecommunication and tourism took part in the conference.
Delegation from
Kyrgyzstan represented by Ak-Keme Hotel, Aras Construction Company and Southern Korea Kyrgyz-Korean Fund presented investment attractions of
Kyrgyzstan for potential investment projects in prior branches of
Kyrgyzstan economy.
The
Kyrgyzstan presentation aroused great interest of South Korean businessmen. At their request business meetings were held, where opportunities of effective investment projects in the fields of civil construction, power and tourism in the
Kyrgyz
Republic were discussed. The opportunity of founding industrial joint enterprises under the condition of development of liberal investment policy in
Kyrgyzstan has been also considered.
Upon the completion of the conference representatives of South Korean companies and KOTRA highly appreciated the opportunity granted by the Kyrgyz delegation, to take a closer look at the investment market of
Kyrgyzstan, and also planned the preliminary schedule of business visits to
Kyrgyzstan for better acquaintance with the Republic.
